Skyland Imaging

Terms of Use

Effective April 26, 2026.

These terms cover the Skyland Imaging Ltd. (“Skyland”) website only. Any actual engagement is governed by a separate Works & Services Agreement signed at project start.

Scope of practice

Skyland’s principal is registered with ASTTBC as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT). Skyland is not a land surveying firm and does not provide legal or cadastral surveys. Under section 59(2)(f) of B.C.’s Land Surveyors Act, an AScT may not determine or certify a boundary.

Topographic surfaces, point clouds, orthomosaics, contours, volumetrics, change detection, and aerial documentation are within scope. Anything that establishes a legal boundary — lot lines, lot corners, encroachment opinions, easements — is reserved for a B.C. Land Surveyor (BCLS). Skyland’s deliverables are technical products, not legal surveys.

Drone operations

RPAS operations run under Part IX of the Canadian Aviation Regulations. Skyland holds a Transport Canada RPOC; the pilot in command holds a Level 1 Complex Pilot Certificate, is a TC Flight Reviewer, and holds an ISED ROC-A.

Engagement liability is addressed in the Works & Services Agreement. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited under B.C.’s Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act.
